I guess I have to give a little explanation here. There is no refining step between “flat” step 10 and “3D-like” step 11, just because there weren’t any additional steps. I just painted all the lights and shadows over the flat color. Step 12 shows the step when I switched to Corel Painter to blend all rough brushstrokes. Step 13 is color correction ( adding more blacks in shadows ) and …the signing:)
I know I usually don’t tend to post here unfinished works, but this sketch I liked so much that decided to share it with the world, which means you people. Besides, who says it’s not finished? I’ve signed here!
I’ve made into Animation Mentor Showcase 2009! What can I say guys? It’s was one hell of a surprise to find myself among all these really talented and hard-working people. Comparing to their work my animation looks pretty humble but hey I am in, that’s what matters. At least for me.

I think it’s been a while since I did something that lasted more than one day. This one took me three. Not around the clock of course but three sessions of 3-4 hours for sure.

Usually I tend to avoid tests for my clients because I think my abilities can be easily seen from my works, but this time I decided to do it because here we are talking about feature animation project and this opportunity is so tempting that I just couldn’t resist.
The character suppose to be a nice, a little bit silly silly but still very charismatic little dictator.

This one was made as editorial illustration for “Russian Life” magazine but due to it’s provoking manner eventually was banned and was never printed. I can be proud of myself.
Once again, editorial illustration for Blazer magazine. The article was about two Israeli guys imprisoned for drug dealing in Portugal.
I start to post here some stuff I’ve made in a recent few months. This one is made for greeting card called “Everything is gonna be OK”.
It’s for an article about Alan Moore, the guy who created Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Constantine.
Not too much happy with that, I would do it in a little bit different way if I was doing it now, but hey that’s why we learn for isn’t it? To make mistakes, see them, correct them and move on to new ones.
This image supposed to be a greeting card. With some text included of course. I’ve done plenty of these guys recently and frankly speaking I am pretty happy with the result.

It’s been a while since I updated this blog. For many reasons. One and most important of all is that I couldn’t find any desktop client which could make all this posting and editing process easy and quick. I hate doing it within a browser. But now everything is going to change, cause I found it. It’s called Windows Live Writer. Thank you Mr.Gates.
